We do all of our work "in house" so we can oversee the entire repair process
from beginning to end. Jack's Old World Craftsmanship and expertise will bring your old and tarnished pieces to Life again. You can be sure all your important pieces will be handled with expert care.

Because most pieces are disassembled before plating or repair, we carefully document and photograph all pieces prior to disassembly. This practice helps us ensure that each item is reassembled in exactly the same manner as it was delivered to us.

Plating

Plating is Baroque Silversmith's specialty. Plating is a process by which a metal (or sometimes plastic) object can have new metal bonded to it. The first step in the process is to clean, pre-treat and prepare the item for electroplating. The item is then dipped into a plating vat that contains the solution of dissolved metals. An electric current is applied, and the metal is deposited on the surface of the item being plated. Metal plating results in a new finish that will last for years to come. Below is a list of the different finishes available.

Polishing

Polishing at Baroque Silversmith is done with meticulous care. No amount of time is too great to ensure your satisfaction. Whether it be a treasured heirloom or a simple door handle from your home; we at Baroque silversmith are here to take care of you and make sure your piece is polished to perfection. We do many types of polishing including:

	color-buffing with rosin. This type of buffing can be used to match aged surfaces.
	Soft wheel buffing to bring out the true luster and shine.
	Hard polishing to remove pits. (provided the metal is thick enough)
	Hand polishing to gently shine any sensitive pieces.
	Matt buffing to provide a dull shine or to match an existing surface.

Repairing
